If you know during the estimate process that you'll need to keep a client's items on the truck, or some other storage setup, you can easily record that on the estimate so that it's included on Step 6.
Note: Step 5 is designed for short term storage (less than one month) and so if you're looking to set up longer term storage, that's handled elsewhere in the system. You can use the button below to be taken to an article that covers that part of our storage system:
To start, if you want the system to automatically calculate the charge per day of storage, you can set that cost within your back-end settings. You would need to go to Manage -> Storage. At the top of the page you'll see the setting of Storage Price Per Day. (Example shown below)
V
As shown on in the example above, if we assigned storage on Step 5 of the estimate, then it would automatically charge $5 per day that was selected.
Note: As with all of our back-end settings located under Manage, this is going to be the default amount for your system. If you're looking to make changes for a specific client, then it would be best to make those changes on their estimate directly.
Once you have the storage cost set up in the back-end, you can go to your estimates and have the cost calculated automatically for the amount of days that you set that you'll be holding onto the customer's items. Using the above example of $5 per day, it'll multiply that by the number of days selected -- in this case $25 for 5 days worth of storage.
You can also add any other miscellaneous storage fees, such as a retrieval fee, under the Misc. Storage Fee section on the same page. This gets added together to show the total for you holding their items and then retrieving them from they're stored to finish the job. Example below:
Once you're satisfied with the charge for your short-term storage quote, you can go to Step 6, where you'll see it part of the price breakdown.
From here, you can finish the estimate and schedule it as you would normally.
